Atlas uses Cortec's 'Clean, Protect, Preserve', process which has been used for over 20 years for the preservation of parts such as castings or valves to multi-million dollar petro-chemical and power generation equipment.

The procedure is as follows, the part is cleaned from oil, residual paint, dirt and dust. Then rust and oxidation are removed typically by dipping - which takes from 5 minutes to 36 hours depending on the severity of the rust and type of part. After rust removal, the metal surface is neutralized to prevent further oxidation.

Finally, the part is preserved for periods ranging from 6 months to 5 years using a combination of dry packing, lubricants, temporary or permanent coatings based on the customer's specified parameters.

The Clean Protect Preserve process from Cortec offers a cost effective way of preserving the good metal to the highest degree possible and prevents corrosion from reoccurring while still adhering to the customer's required parameters for immediate use, easy cleaning or lubrication.
